I invite you to visit my sponsors by clicking on there link throughout my pages. Without there support I would not be able to enjoy & race endurance sports.
A little about me
I first started representing in sports a the age of eight & I have always been naturally talented as a distance runner, but after trying many different sports I fell in love with the sport of mountain biking when getting a bike for cross training for distance running back in 1999. I still competed in distance running for a few years at a national level while competing in state Cross Country MTB events where I finished 3rd in the series. I was only training on the bike once or twice a week at this stage. In the later years I started to enter the longer marathon (100 km) mountain biking events for the fun, but I always suffered cramps & had to ride well below my threshold to be able to finish. I was still only training a few days a week with my longest ride around the 60 km. I got more involved in the local MTB club & started organising local races so there was more to enter in the local area, & over the years to follow I organised many, but the problem was I was not riding in them because of the organising & there was also less time to train. Until recently at the beginning of 2013 I had not followed a proper training plan for Mountain Biking & turning forty I felt it was time to give it a go before I got to slow. In doing so I am becoming fitter on the bike every day & have found a way to overcome cramps helping me to do well in races I have entered at late. I feel that forty is now the new twenty & am looking forward to more racing in the future. Feel free in taking a look at my pages from the links at the top of this page including my blog page that I will update after every race where you can leave your comments. Hope to see you out on the trails or at an endurance event soon :-) Jamie. |
